The grain on each individual handle has its own special character. The shape of the brushes is a shape that Frank has refined and developed over a 20-year period. An early version of this shape can still be found on the handle of Frank's veneer saw. In fact, each tool in Frank's box has a solid ebony handle that he has made to fit his own hand. x Each Pollaro shaving brush starts with a genuine badger hair tuft that is custom made to Frank Pollaro's exact specifications for brush quality, brush density, bristle stiffness, length and diameter. Next we add hand selected solid exotic wood stock. The brush blanks are selected for superior color and interesting grain. Each handle is unique. When you hold one of these brushes in your hand, you will immediately see the care in grain orientation and selection.

x The raw stock is then individually turned by hand on the lathe. No duplicators or templates are used. Each brush is finished with water resistant varnish and then sanded and hand polished to perfection. The polished varnish allows the deep natural colors of the wood to radiate. This is the same finish used on the finest Pollaro dining tables. After the badger brush is glued into the finished handle, Frank then carefully tunes each brush eliminating any stray hairs and final shaping the brush to perfection.
